In an additional update, the Supreme Court has taken notice of a plea from Ashish Chanchlani. He sought the cancellation or transfer of an FIR registered against him in Guwahati concerning India’s Got Latent. Justices Surya Kant and N Kotishwar Singh issued notices to the states of Maharashtra and Assam regarding Chanchlani’s request, linking it to a similar plea from Ranveer Allahbadia. Chanchlani’s plea aims to quash or transfer the FIR, which accuses him and others of promoting obscenity in the show.

Assam Guwahati Police FIR

On February 11, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma announced that the Guwahati Police had filed an FIR. It was against several YouTubers and social influencers, including Allahbadia, Samay Raina, Ashish Chanchlani, Jaspreet Singh, and Apoorva Makhija. It mentioned them promoting obscenity and engaging in sexually explicit discussions on India’s Got Latent. FIRs have been registered against them in both Mumbai and Guwahati.

Chanchlani is named in an FIR lodged in Assam, with Allahbadia identified as the primary accused. The Gauhati High Court granted Chanchlani pre-arrest bail on Tuesday, instructing him to report to investigating officers within ten days. The Supreme Court also criticized Allahbadia for his inappropriate comments during his guest appearance on the show. They labelled them as “dirty and perverted” while granting him protection from arrest.
